Introducing: Data+Soul Studio Workshops!
Throughout the year, we will be offering bite-sized learning workshops. These workshops are content-specific and research and practice-informed. Designed to expand your evaluation toolbox and strengthen your foundations in data equity, each module will equip you with practical cornerstone tools, evaluative methodologies, and approaches to sustain equity-centered micropractices in your daily work.
We’ll share four timely and applicable tools and methodologies in data equity and equity-centered evaluation tools that you can take and use in your practice. Join us as we explore each topic with case studies, facilitated activities for practice, and peer learning.
These workshops will infuse data+soul into your micropractices, influence your evaluative approaches, and give you the tools and methodologies to answer the evergreen question, “how do I actually center equity in my work?”
Our first workshop explores what it looks like to create and work with data in a way that centers justice, equity, and inclusion. It introduces the Data Equity Deck, a card deck developed by Data+Soul to help evaluators and applied researchers move through reflection and action around data equity.Each card prompts you to either reflect on a question, consider hypothetical scenarios, review a resource, or try an activity. Use it alone, or as a way to dive into discussion with teammates, clients, and/or communities.
What to expect
This interactive workshop is made up of two virtual sessions
Session 1: Introduction to the Data Equity Deck & Putting It Into Practice.
March 20th from 12:00-2:30 PM ET
This session situates the Deck within other equity-centered evaluation tools, and presents case studies of how to use the Deck in practice. In this interactive session, you’ll use the Data Equity Deck to deepen your own equity-centered evaluation practices and to connect with other evaluators doing equity-centered work.
Session 2: Coaching and Peer Learning
March 26th at 12:00 PM ET
After spending a few days putting the Deck into practice, we’ll gather back together to reflect on how we used the Deck, learn from the experiences of our peers, and troubleshoot your implementation questions.
Note: Sessions are scheduled a week apart to give you a chance to put the Data Equity Deck into practice!

Discuss foundational principles of data equity and why data equity is essential in our current moment
